The deal is one of the largest such orders placed so far, <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/08\/23\/a-tesla-semi-is-spotted-in-europe-but-why\/\">and gives DSV one of the largest electric trucking fleets in Europe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-377079\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Every day, more than 20,000 DSV trucks are on the road, moving goods for the company\u2019s customers around the world. And now \u2013\u00a0thanks to DSV\u2019s commitment to its ESG goals \u2013 a growing number of those trucks will be running on electric power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very proud to deepen the partnership we have with DSV. Collaboration and a strong commitment to really make a difference is essential for making sustainable transport and big CO2 reductions a reality,\u201d says Roger Alm, President Volvo Trucks. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/07\/01\/volvo-trucks-have-logged-over-50-million-battery-electric-miles\/\">This order is proof of their trust in our company and shows that zero-exhaust emissions transport is a viable solution here and now<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/06\/17\/volvo-wins-at-le-mans-electric-semi-debunks-range-myths-ahead-of-24h\/\">DSV\u2019s order for 300 Volvo FH Aero Electric models<\/a>, which have improved aerodynamics compared to previous models, <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/06\/12\/londonenergy-puts-volvo-fm-electric-semi-trucks-to-work-in-waste-management\/\">are among the company\u2019s most efficient EVs<\/a>. They\u2019ll be deployed throughout DSV\u2019s European operations as part of a larger order that includes 500 Volvo Trucks powered by the brand\u2019s high efficiency Penta diesel and gas powerplants.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.volvotrucks.com\/en-en\/news-stories\/press-releases\/2024\/aug\/volvo-receives-order-for-300-electric-trucks-from-dsv.html\">Both DSV and Volvo Group are committed to the Science-based targets initiative<\/a>, which drives ambitious climate action in the private sector, in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCollaboration across sectors is key to battle climate change, and we are happy to extend our partnership with Volvo in our joint effort to reduce emissions in the transport industry,\u201d says S\u00f8ren Schmidt, CEO DSV Road. \u201cAs a global leader in logistics, we must try to stay at the forefront of the green transition and this agreement is a fantastic example of how new technologies can be brought to market at scale to make them more accessible for our customers. The deal with Volvo is an important step towards enabling a more sustainable future in trucking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DSV plans to take delivery of the trucks between Q4 of 2024 and the end of 2025. In addition to sheer numbers, Volvo has market share.
