It\u2019s official \u2013\u00a0Isuzu has announced the official start of production for its highly anticipated new electric cab and chassis, the Isuzu NRR-EV (and I\u2019m super excited about it).<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been a fan of Isuzu\u2019s medium duty cabover trucks for more than two decades, and often try to dream up reasons to weasel one into the Borr\u00e1s fleet. Based on the company\u2019s sales figures, I\u2019m not alone \u2013 they\u2019re best-selling low cab forward<\/a> trucks in America.<\/p>\n

As Isuzu\u2019s first electric truck<\/a>, its production start is being called \u201ca significant milestone in Isuzu\u2019s storied history,\u201d and underscores the brand\u2019s commitment to sustainable transportation solutions that will provide viable zero-emission offerings for North America\u2019s commercial fleets. And, just like Isuzu\u2019s diesel NRR, the truck can be up-fitted as a box van for middle and final mile deliveries<\/a>, a dump body for landscaping, or even as a sweeper (below) or garbage truck.<\/p>\n

In other words, the new Isuzu NRR-EV electric is designed to be just as versatile as its previous gas and diesel models. Maybe more versatile, in fact, when you consider that Isuzu\u2019s clever modular battery design makes it possible to custom tailor the trucks\u2019 range to perfectly suit the needs of a given fleet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Isuzu\u2019s N-series trucks are everywhere \u2013\u00a0and for good reason. Their diesel trucks have been dependable for decades. They\u2019re affordable, and they have a nationwide network of GM dealers supporting them. Inside, they\u2019re uncluttered, and offer superior visibility.
