{"id":76158,"date":"2024-08-26T09:03:40","date_gmt":"2024-08-26T13:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=76158"},"modified":"2024-08-26T09:03:40","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T13:03:40","slug":"1144245_2024-f1-dutch-grand-prix-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=76158","title":{"rendered":"Norris recovers to win 2024 F1 Dutch Grand Prix"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Lando Norris won the 2024 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Local hero Max Verstappen struggled for grip after leading early on<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Verstappen still has a sizable gap in the Drivers&#8217; championship<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>McLaren&#8217;s Lando Norris converted a pole position into a win on Sunday at the 2024 Formula1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/dutch-grand-prix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dutch Grand Prix<\/a>, denying local hero Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing a fourth-straight victory at the race at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1144236_2024-f1-dutch-grand-prix-preview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Circuit Zandvoort<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen finished in second place, almost 23 seconds behind, while <strong>rounding the top three<\/strong> was Ferrari&#8217;s Charles Leclerc with a 25-second gap to Norris.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Norris was joined by Verstappen at the front of the grid for the start of the race, which served as <strong>round 15 of the 2024 season<\/strong>. Fellow McLaren driver Oscar Piastri and Mercedes-Benz AMG&#8217;s George Russell filled out the second row, followed by Red Bull&#8217;s Sergio Perez and Leclerc in the third row. When the lights turned green, Verstappen made a brilliant start to jump into the lead before the first corner.<\/p>\n<p>Norris kept his cool and prevented Verstappen from building too much of a gap, something that he was able to capitalize on at the end of lap 17 with an <strong>impressive overtaking maneuver<\/strong>. Verstappen losing grip wasn&#8217;t able to take back the position and started to fall back. They pushed hard in the final laps to close down on Perez and Sainz but were unable to get ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Following the weekend&#8217;s action, Verstappen still leads the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1142473_2024-f1-standings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024 Drivers&#8217; Championship<\/a> with 296 points. Norris is second with 225 points and Leclerc is third with 192 points. In the Constructors&#8217; Championship, Red Bull leads with 434 points.
