The new partnership comes as BYD looks to close the tech gap with Tesla and other upcoming Chinese rivals.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-377337\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-byd-will-use-huawei-s-new-tech-in-its-off-road-evs\">BYD will use Huawei\u2019s new tech in its off-road EVs<\/h2>\n<p>BYD\u2019s new \u201cprofessional grade\u201d Fang Cheng Bao brand earned a major upgrade Tuesday after  securing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huawei.com\/cn\/news\/2024\/8\/byd-fangchengbao-signing\">a partnership<\/a> with Apple rival Huawei.<\/p>\n<p>The brand will use Huawei\u2019s new Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 3.0 to open \u201ca new era of global intelligent hard-core\u201d driving. BYD\u2019s Fang Cheng Bao will work with the tech giant to research and develop smart driving tech for its off-road vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>BYD <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byd.com\/us\/news-list\/BYD-Unleashes-FANG-CHENG-BAO-A-New-Brand-that-Specializes-in-Professional-and-Personalized-Identities\">launched Fang Cheng Bao<\/a> last June. The Bao 8 was introduced in April alongside the <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/06\/14\/byds-fang-cheng-bao-unveils-rugged-new-electric-suv-images\/\">Super 3 electric SUV<\/a> (Bao 3) and Super 9 supercar concepts. The Bao 8 off-road SUV is expected to start at around $70,200 (RMB 500,000).<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-closing-the-adas-tech-gap-with-tesla\">Closing the ADAS tech gap with Tesla<\/h2>\n<p>Huawei launched Qiankun ADS 3.0 in April, unlocking new smart driving features like city Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/guides\/tesla-full-self-driving\/\">Tesla\u2019s Full Self-Driving<\/a> (FSD).<\/p>\n<p>The system uses the first end-to-end network architecture, which provides a more human-like experience.
