As with the 2024 model year, a Limited grade is also available. It <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1139176_2024-hyundai-sonata-hybrid-refresh-will-embrace-sporty-side\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">received a <strong>refresh for 2024<\/strong><\/a>, with a new super-aero look, dual 12.3-inch displays in a panoramic curved housing, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1140671_2024-hyundai-sonata-hybrid-makes-more-of-regenerative-braking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enhanced regenerative braking<\/a>. But while non-hybrid models see the reintroduction of the base SE grade and a newly-separate SEL Convenience grade for 2025, those changes don&#8217;t apply to the Sonata Hybrid.<\/p>\n<p>Hybrids are still powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 gasoline engine and 6-speed automatic transmission with an integrated electric motor, with the latter powered by a 1.62-kwh battery pack. Total system output is <strong>192 hp<\/strong>. That means <strong>47 mpg combined<\/strong>, with city and highway ratings of 44 mpg and 51 mpg, respectively. Pre-refresh, the Sonata Hybrid achieved a stellar 52 mpg combined in the Blue guise that&#8217;s no longer offered.<\/p>\n<p>Primary rivals include the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1138690_2023-honda-accord-hybrid-test-drive-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Honda Accord Hybrid<\/a>, which achieves up to 48 mpg combined in EX-L guise, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1142905_2025-toyota-camry-test-drive-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Toyota Camry<\/a>, which goes hybrid-only as part of an extensive update for the 2025 model year. The Camry boasts a best fuel-efficient rating of 51 mpg combined in front-wheel drive LE trim.
