Tesla has always refused to release FSD intervention data so we wouldn\u2019t even know if v12.5.2 can achieve a \u201c3x improvement in miles between necessary intervention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As we previously reported, we do have some crowdsourced data, and <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/08\/01\/tesla-full-self-driving-data-makes-elon-musk-reduce-expectations\/\">Elon Musk acknowledged it positively<\/a>, so we might as well use that since Tesla refuses to release official data.<\/p>\n<p>For v12.4, the CEO said that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/05\/09\/tesla-remove-steering-wheel-nag-full-self-driving-update\/\">it will come without steering wheel nag<\/a>\u00a0and it will be able to drive \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/05\/15\/elon-musk-tesla-next-full-self-driving-update-5-to-10x-fewer-interventions-per-mile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">5 to 10x more miles per intervention<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>v12.4 never made it to a wide release and v12.5 was supposed to go wide release last month and it only made it to about 5% of the FSD fleet the last time I checked.<\/p>\n<p>Now, instead of a 5 to 10x increase on v12.4, which was a flop, he is now talking about a \u201c~3x improvement\u201d this month with the release of v12.5.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s compare the data so far. Some disengagement are due to comfort and frustration on the driver\u2019s part.<\/p>\n<p>With v12.5.1, a lot of the disengagement have to do with navigation errors and speed. The former, Tesla will certainly need to fix. The latter is more problematic as it actually influence the data.<\/p>\n<p>Many FSD drivers complain that the latest update is drives extremely slow.
