Through its partnership with EVgo, <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/guides\/toyota\/\">Toyota<\/a> opened its first EV fast charger on Monday. The new co-branded stations, with 350kW fast chargers, can serve up to eight EVs.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-405280\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-toyota-evgo-open-first-350kw-ev-fast-charger\">Toyota, EVgo open first 350kW EV fast charger<\/h2>\n<p>The new DC fast charging station opened in Baldwin Park and Sacramento, California, as part of Toyota\u2019s \u201cEmpact\u201d vision.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota <a href=\"https:\/\/pressroom.toyota.com\/toyota-empact-vision-addresses-sustainability-ev-charging-equity-in-underserved-communities\/\">announced the initiative<\/a> almost two years ago, aimed at expanding charging access in underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether with EVgo, we are supporting broader access to charging infrastructure for all battery EV drivers, including those driving Toyota and Lexus BEVs,\u201d Toyota North America General Manager of EV charging solutions, James George, said at the event.<\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The new stations are near \u201camenity-rich\u201d areas with nearby grocery stores, restaurants, shopping malls, and other businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Levitan, EVgo\u2019s executive vice president, explained that charging availability is \u201cessential\u201d as more drivers choose electric.
