It also confirmed the opening of reservations for both models in the U.K. (other markets weren&#8217;t discussed), where they&#8217;ll also be built.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The pair of two-seat sports cars are based on an aluminum chassis developed by Longbow with the aim of keeping weight to a minimum, in the spirit of classic small British sports cars. The targeted curb weight is just 2,200 pounds\u2014featherweight for any car, especially a modern EV.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper first_wrapper\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100963626_m\" title=\"Longbow Roadster\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"Longbow Roadster\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"first_image lazy\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"576\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/longbow-roadster_100963626_l.webp\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/longbow-roadster_100963626_h.webp\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/longbow-roadster_100963626_l.webp\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/longbow-roadster_100963626_l.webp\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/longbow-roadster_100963626_m.webp\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/longbow-roadster_100963626_s.webp\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Longbow Roadster<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Speedster is scheduled to arrive first and targets a 0-62 mph time of 3.5 seconds, while the Roadster is estimated to do the same run in 3.6 seconds. Longbow expects 275 miles of WLTP range for the Roadster and 280 miles for the Speedster; equivalent EPA numbers would be somewhat lower.<\/p>\n<p>Prices start at 84,995 British pounds (approximately $110,200 at current exchange rates) for the Speedster and 64,995 British pounds ($84,300) for the Roadster. Longbow plans to limit Speedster production to just 150 units, with a larger, undisclosed production run for the Roadster. Davey did two stints at Tesla, the first back in 2010 during the time of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1124946_shop-keeps-tesla-roadsters-going-strong-without-factory-support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the original Roadster sports car<\/a>, and was also the first Lucid employee based outside the U.S. Tapscott has worked at both automakers, as well as BYD.<\/p>\n<p>Longbow isn&#8217;t the only British company developing a back-to-basics sports car with an electric powertrain. Caterham\u2014known for the minimalist Seven\u2014unveiled its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1140189_caterham-project-v-concept-previews-lightweight-electric-sports-car\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Project V concept<\/a> in 2023, and last year confirmed that it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1144626_yamaha-to-help-develop-caterham-project-v-electric-sports-car\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">working with Yamaha<\/a> to develop a production version.
