While they\u2019ve become a defining feature on special models like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2023\/07\/11\/2024-bmw-m3-cs-review\/\">M3 CS<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2024\/05\/19\/2025-bmw-m4-cs-review\/\">M4 CS<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2021\/08\/20\/test-drive-2021-bmw-m5-cs\/\">M5 CS<\/a>, the latest G87 M2 CS prototypes suggest a different story.<\/p>\n<p>With the M2 CS now in the final stages of development, prototypes are rolling out with minimal camouflage, revealing most of the production-ready design. And so far, not a single one has been spotted with the signature yellow DRLs. Another reason might simply be cost or production complexity\u2014adding yellow DRLs to the M2\u2019s headlight modules might not have been a justifiable expense given its price positioning.<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe BMW wants the M2 CS to stand on its own\u2014lighter, sharper, and more focused without relying on the now-expected visual flourishes.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the reasoning, if you were hoping for yellow eyes on the upcoming M2 CS, it\u2019s time to adjust your expectations. Enthusiasts will still get a serious performance machine, likely with weight savings, chassis upgrades, and a power bump\u2014just without the golden glow.
