Ford Lightning. Some historic car names are just begging to be brought back as new-age electric vehicles,\u00a0but the best one has always been the Buick Electra \u2013\u00a0and now, it\u2019s back. Meet the all-new Buick ELECTRA GS concept.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-412427\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to draw a direct line between this new-age concept, which made its debut earlier today in Shanghai, and the OG 1959 Buick Electra. Heck, <em>that<\/em> car would probably have more parts in common with a lunar rover than this new electric Electra \u2026 but as Michael Keaton\u2019s Ray Kroc says in <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt4276820\/\">The Founder<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, \u201cI needed the name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2023\/04\/25\/buicks-first-electric-suv-receives-8000-orders-in-10-days\/\">ELECTRA<\/a> GS is big, bad, and definitely designed to feel like a chest-forward statement of intent. In fact, the official copy says that the concept draws inspiration from the mythical centaur, embodying both raw power and intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ELECTRA GS is more than a concept. It\u2019s a design manifesto,\u201d said Stuart Norris, Chief Design Officer at SAIC-GM and Vice President of GM China Design. \u201cIt\u2019s a bold statement that Buick will continue its success in the electric era with sculptural dynamism, cutting-edge technology, and uncompromised sophistication.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Which, sure \u2013\u00a0but did I mention it\u2019s big?
