However, with Trump\u2019s auto tariffs, Ford is suspending full-year guidance. Here\u2019s a breakdown of Ford\u2019s Q1 2025 earnings<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-414471\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ford-q1-2025-earnings-preview\">Ford Q1 2025 earnings preview<\/h2>\n<p>After crosstown rival General Motors cut its full-year financial guidance last week, investors are waiting to see if Ford will follow suit.<\/p>\n<p>Ford\u2019s previous 2025 forecast called for EBIT of $7 billion to $8.5 billion and capital expenditures between $8 billion and $9 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest threat is Trump\u2019s new auto tariffs, which include a 25% duty on imported vehicles and many parts. Since Ford builds a greater percentage of vehicles in the US than any other major automaker, outside of Tesla, it isn\u2019t expected to see as big of an impact.<\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p>CEO Jim Farley called it \u201can opportunity for Ford,\u201d during an interview with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/04\/30\/business\/ford-ceo-tariffs\/index.html\">CNN<\/a><\/em> last week, saying the company has a \u201cdifferent footprint, a different exposure for tariffs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ford imports around 21% of the vehicles it sells in the US, while GM imports around 46%. Ford said its first-quarter EBIT suffered a nearly $200 million hit from added tariff costs, primarily in Ford Blue and Ford Pro.<\/p>\n<p>Ford Pro generated an EBIT of $1.3 billion, Ford Blue $96 approach to investments in battery facilities and next-generation products.\u201d Although still a nearly $1 billion loss, it\u2019s still a $500 million improvement from Q1 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Ford said \u201cPower Promise\u201d promotion, which includes a free home charger and several other benefits, has helped drive demand in the US.<\/p>\n<p>Although it\u2019s tracking within its previous full-year adjusted EBIT guidance of between $7 billion and $8.5 billion, Ford is suspending full-year guidance due to the uncertainty surrounding tariffs. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image It expects a tariff-related net adverse adjusted EBIT impact of about $1.5 billion for the full year 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Ford also extended its <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/05\/01\/fords-ev-sales-fell-40-in-april-now-its-adjusting-project\/\">\u201cFrom America, For America\u201d<\/a> campaign last week.
