Another application by Tesla to trademark the term \u201cRobotaxi\u201d for its upcoming ride-hailing service is\u00a0still under examination\u00a0by the office.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>USTPO notes that other companies and media have used the term \u2018robotaxi\u201d to refer to other self-driving vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The decision is \u201cnon-final\u201d. Tesla can still appeal the decision.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla also saw its trademark application for \u2018Cybercab\u2019 halted as USTPO reviews other applications using the term \u2018cyber\u2019.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-electrek-s-take\">Electrek\u2019s Take<\/h2>\n<p>I don\u2019t think Tesla should get a trademark for \u2018Robotaxi\u2019. It\u2019s indeed too generic. \u2018Cybercab\u2019 should be fine though.
