More than enough, in other words, to meet the needs of just about any fleet you can think of.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a good thing, too,\u00a0because medium-duty trucks are put to work in just about any circumstance you can think of, as well \u2013\u00a0a fact that\u2019s not lost on Harbinger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMedium-duty vehicles serve an incredibly diverse range of applications, just like the fleets and operators that rely on them, \u201d explains\u00a0John Harris, Co-founder and CEO, Harbinger. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/04\/12\/harbinger-motors-says-its-evs-will-beat-diesel-trucks-in-price-by-end-of-year\/\">There are some fleets whose needs simply can\u2019t be met with a purely electric vehicle<\/a>\u2014and we recognize that. Our hybrid is designed for use cases and routes that go beyond what an all-electric system typically supports. The new chassis\u2019 electric powertrain delivers 440 hp and 1,140 lb-ft of tq for quick acceleration into traffic and smooth running, even under load. This medium-duty chassis was first shown last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/09\/27\/thor-electric-rv-concept-packs-a-140-kwh-battery-and-500-mile-range\/\">making its debut under a Thor Class A motorhome concept that we covered in September<\/a>. That vehicle promised the same great EREV range and capability to a market that values independence and spontaneity more than most, and bringing those values to a medium-duty commercial market that\u2019s lapping up \u201cmessy middle\u201d propaganda from <s>Shell<\/s> NACFE is just smart business.<\/p>\n<p>The new Harbinger chassis\u2019 batteries are manufactured by Panasonic. No word on who is making the 1.4L ICE generator, but my money\u2019s on the GM SGE four-cylinder last seen in the gas-powered Chevy Spark.
