It\u2019s the same size as the Nissan Frontier Pro, offers over 35 miles of all-electric range, and pricing starts at just $16,600.<\/p>\n<p>* <strong>in China<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-418604\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2023\/01\/23\/nissan-is-exploring-a-mid-size-frontier-like-electric-pickup-truck\/\">Positioned as the electrified sibling of the domestically-built Nissan Frontier Pro<\/a>, the Zhengzhou Nissan Z9 is essentially a Chinese-market version the Frontier Pro, and it\u2019s spec\u2019ed and priced accordingly, with the as-yet undisclosed price of the Frontier Pro expected to come in a bit higher than the Z9.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s less interesting. What\u2019s <em>more<\/em> interesting is that the Z9 offers 35 miles (60 km) of range on the base, 17 kWh battery, <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/05\/12\/slates-20k-electric-pickup-suv-100k-reservations\/\">at a price that significantly undercuts even the Slate EV\u2019s $28,000 pre<\/a>-$7,500 incentive price tag \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/05\/06\/gop-leader-confirms-plan-to-kill-7500-ev-tax-credit-in-budget\/\">and that incentive is <em>far<\/em> from a sure thing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, if you feel like spending a bit more, you can get a Zhengzhou Nissan Z9 equipped with a 32.85 kWh battery that\u2019s good for almost 85 miles (135 km) of all-electric range. Like many of you, I\u2019m of the belief that a PHEV isn\u2019t an EV \u2013\u00a0but I do see their value as \u201clilypad\u201d cars, and the two Lightning owners I know?
