The price hikes were expected to go into effect in the US to help offset the blow from Trump\u2019s auto tariffs. Here\u2019s what to expect now.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-418676\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-is-hyundai-raising-vehicle-prices-in-the-us\">Is Hyundai raising vehicle prices in the US?<\/h2>\n<p>Last week, a <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-05-29\/hyundai-weighs-across-the-board-us-price-hikes-to-blunt-tariffs\">Bloomberg<\/a><\/em> report claimed Hyundai was considering raising vehicle prices across the board. The report cited sources familiar with the matter said <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/05\/30\/hyundai-vehicles-more-expensive\/\">the price hikes<\/a> were expected as soon as June 2.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai denied the rumors (via <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.koreaherald.com\/article\/10499693\">The Korea Herald<\/a><\/em>), saying, \u201cWe have not made any decision regarding price changes after the current price guarantee period ends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On April 4, Hyundai launched its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyundainews.com\/en-us\/releases\/4418\">\u201cCustomer Assurance\u201d program<\/a> in response to Trump\u2019s auto tariffs and uncertain market conditions. The program locks in car prices (MSRP) for those who purchase or lease a vehicle, including those under its luxury Genesis brand, during the protection window.<\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, the window ends today, June 2. The sources also said Hyundai was considering raising prices on optional features, such as added roof rails.<\/p>\n<p>Like most of the industry, Hyundai is facing higher import costs since the 25% tariff went into effect on April 3. However, many of its vehicles are still imported from Korea.<\/p>\n<p>Over 637,600 vehicles were exported from Hyundai\u2019s plants in Korea to the US last year, or nearly 70% of its sales.<\/p>\n<p>We should learn more soon as Hyundai finalizes its pricing review.
