The new Staria EV was spotted driving on public roads in Korea for the first time ahead of its official launch later this year.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-419236\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hyundai-s-first-electric-minivan-hits-the-road-for-testing\">Hyundai\u2019s first electric minivan hits the road for testing<\/h2>\n<p>The Staria will be Hyundai\u2019s first fully electric minivan. It was first introduced in 2021 as the successor to the Starex, Hyundai\u2019s multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).<\/p>\n<p>For the 2026 model year, Hyundai is preparing to introduce a few notable changes, including its first EV version. Like the current model, the Staria facelift will be offered in camper, cargo, passenger, and several other variations.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, we got our first glimpse of Hyundai\u2019s electric van after it was <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/01\/08\/hyundais-new-electric-minivan-caught-undisguised-first-time\/\">spotted in a Korean parking lot<\/a>, undisguised (pictured below). <\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The EV variant retains a similar design to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyundai.com\/content\/dam\/hyundai\/kr\/ko\/data\/vehicles\/catalog\/en\/staria-lounge-catalog-eng.pdf\">Staria Lounge<\/a>, which is available as a 7- or 9-seater, a Limousine, and even a camper van. You can see a few noticeable changes that give it away as an EV, including a closed-off grille and a charging port on the front.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery aligncenter expect from Hyundai\u2019s upcoming electric minivan.<\/p>\n<p>The new footage from <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iBElU96Wicw\">ShortsCar<\/a><\/em> reveals the Staria\u2019s new look, featuring updated LED headlights and a redesigned front end. Although it\u2019s covered, the new model is expected to include a full-length light bar. Although it appears slightly wider than the current Staria, the new model seems to be about the same size from the side.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai is expected to officially reveal the Staria EV later this year. Kia\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/04\/30\/kia-pv5-electric-van-pre-orders-start-under-45000\/\">opened pre-orders<\/a> for the PV5 Passenger van in the UK on May 1, starting at \u00a332,995 ($44,000).<\/p>\n<p>Kia\u2019s passenger electric van is available with two battery options: 51.5 kWh or 71.2 kWh, providing a WLTP range of up to 179 miles or 249 miles.
