It was developed for homologation and featured a V8 engine (a first for the M3) that produced 380 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, enabling a top speed of 183 mph.<\/p>\n<p>For reference, the standard E46 M3 used a straight-six engine that generated 338 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, achieving 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
