At a time when many automakers are blaming slow EV demand, Hyundai\u2019s big electric family hauler seems to be bucking the trend.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-431657\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hyundai-s-three-row-electric-suv-is-off-to-a-strong-start\">Hyundai\u2019s three-row electric SUV is off to a strong start<\/h2>\n<p>After <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/02\/03\/hyundai-ioniq-9-pre-orders-open-korea-starting-just-41000\/\">opening IONIQ 9 pre-orders<\/a> in its home market in February, Hyundai was already calling the larger SUV a game-changer.<\/p>\n<p>A few months later, in March, the first models <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/03\/27\/hyundai-ioniq-9-enters-production-georgia-ev-plant-opens\/\">rolled off the production line<\/a> at Hyundai\u2019s new Metaplant America in Georgia. <\/p>\n<p>The IONIQ 9 has only been on the market for a few months, but it\u2019s already winning over buyers. Since launching the three-row electric SUV in February, Hyundai has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyundai.com\/worldwide\/en\/company\/ir\/ir-resources\/sales-results\">sold 14,391 units<\/a> globally. Of them, 4,745 were sold in Korea and 9,646 were sold overseas. <\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the US, Hyundai has sold 2,086 IONIQ 9 models since it went on sale in May. However, with generous discounts, Hyundai is offering leases as low as $299 per month. The new and improved 2025 IONIQ 5 is coming off its best sales month in the US in July and remains one of the top-selling EVs in the US.<\/p>\n<p>The IONIQ 5 is also surprisingly affordable. Hyundai is offering 2025 IONIQ 5 leases starting at $129 per month.
