John Deere has acquired 100% of GUSS, and has big plans to pick up that tech and run with it like a \u2026 well, you know.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-432079\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The latest battery-powered GUSS autonomous sprayer made its debut at the 2024 World Ag Expo show in Tulare, California, last summer, where executives from Deere called it, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2024\/02\/20\/meet-guss-an-electric-autonomous-sprayer-from-john-deere\/\">the world\u2019s first and only fully electric autonomous herbicide orchard sprayer<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since then, interest in automated ag equipment has only grown \u2014 fueled not just by rising demand for affordable food and produce, but by a national labor shortage made worse by the Trump Administration\u2019s tough anti-immigration policies as well.
