With prices starting at just $35,000, the <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/guides\/kia-ev5\/\">Kia EV5<\/a> arrives as an affordable SUV that\u2019s built for the masses. But those in the US may never get to see it.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-432645\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kia-launches-the-ev5-in-korea-at-an-affordable-price\">Kia launches the EV5 in Korea at an affordable price<\/h2>\n<p>After <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/09\/01\/kia-announces-ev5-prices-offering-up-to-329-miles-of-range\/\">opening orders in the UK<\/a> earlier this week, Kia launched the EV5 in its home market of South Korea on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Like overseas, the electric SUV is available in three variants: Air, Earth, and GT-Line. Powered by an 81.4 kWh battery, the EV5 offers a range of up to 460 km (285 miles). <\/p>\n<p>A single front-mounted electric motor provides up to 215 hp (160 kW) and 295 Nm max torque. It can also recharge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes using a 350 kW charger.<\/p>\n<p>\t<span class=\"outbrain-ad-label\">Advertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The EV5 is 1,875 mm wide, 4,610 mm long, and 1,675 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, which is slightly smaller than that of the Tesla Model Y. Plus, there\u2019s an added 5\u2033 AC display.<\/p>\n<p>Kia introduced several new features, including a new sound bar and display theme. We\u2019ve seen a few EV5 models <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2025\/08\/18\/new-kia-ev5-variant-spotted-in-the-us-for-first-time-images\/\">testing in the US<\/a>, sparking speculation (or hope) that it could arrive, but don\u2019t get your hopes up too soon. The last <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kia.ca\/en\/about-kia\/news\/The-all-new-Kia-EV5-set-to-arrive-in-Canada-Spring-2026\">official statement<\/a> from Kia still says the EV5 will be exclusive to Canada in the North American market.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think of Kia\u2019s new electric SUV?
