BMW has further refined the \u201cB47\u201d and \u201cB57\u201d to ensure compliance for years to come. Expect the smaller unit to also stick around in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2026\/02\/11\/mini-diesel-countryman-mount-fuji-photoshoot\/\">MINI Countryman<\/a>. Company cars are typically mile munchers, and with diesel still the efficiency king outside urban areas, Allianz\u2019s decision makes perfect sense from an operational cost perspective.<\/p>\n<p>Inevitably, diesel engines will disappear from Europe. By 2035, automakers will have to cut fleet emissions by 90% compared to 2021 levels. That will leave room for only a handful of ICE vehicles, with diesels the most vulnerable to get the axe. However, we\u2019re not there yet, and BMW can still sell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2026\/01\/23\/bmw-x6-x7-diesel-share-germany-2025\/\">diesel-powered cars<\/a> without exceeding fleet emissions limits.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, the BMW Group reduced its CO\u2082 emissions to 90 g\/km, beating its fleet target by 2.9 grams.
