He also flagged an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2026\/05\/19\/mini-rocketman-city-car-under-consideration\/\">off-road-focused variant<\/a> of an existing model. \u201cWe\u2019ve witnessed the trend of the outdoor lifestyle and driving out of the city to spend some days in nature,\u201d he said. The Countryman is the only MINI currently offered with four-wheel drive, and its ride height makes it the obvious candidate.<\/p>\n<p>On JCW, Hampf said there is \u201cair to the top\u201d of the performance range and drew a comparison with the gap between BMW\u2019s M and M Competition cars, suggesting a more extreme variant is in development.
