That&#8217;s a bit different than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1132073_tesla-may-be-banking-a-lot-on-its-new-battery-cell-format-semi-cybertruck-model-s-plaid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tesla&#8217;s planned cell-to-pack structural battery<\/a>; it means Canoo will still be packing the cylindrical cells into modules, but then mounting those modules directly into the vehicle chassis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Canoo maintains that the approach brings class-leading specific energy, plus space savings and significant mass savings. After initially focusing on a subscription model, the company in May announced plans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1132297_canoo-prices-its-evs-starting-at-34-750-for-lifestyle-vehicle-due-in-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to sell the vehicle in three trims<\/a> ranging from $34,750 to $49,950. After that, the company has plans for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1131536_canoo-s-200-mile-electric-pickup-is-a-compact-truck-with-a-full-size-bed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pickup truck<\/a> plus a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1130698_canoo-s-33-000-electric-delivery-van-aims-for-efficiency-and-ownership-costs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">delivery van<\/a>\u00a0called the Multi-Purpose Delivery Vehicle. Canoo previously disclosed a price of just $33,000 for the MPDV.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Canoo says that the Lifestyle Vehicle will be made in the fourth quarter of 2022, and it\u2019s due to be contract manufactured in low volume by Netherlands-based NDL Nedcar for both the U.S. and the EU.
