Stellantis is rolling out a new app-based system that allows owners of Citroen, DS, Peugeot and Vauxhall vehicles to store their car’s service history digitally.
The Digital Service Record system was announced last year and has been initially launched for DS and Peugeot drivers in the UK.
It’s accessed via the relevant brand’s smartphone app and can be activated by a dealer.
The new system is free to use and will store all servicing and maintenance information so that car owners can have all important details at their fingertips. It provides owners the opportunity to plan and prepare their next service, as well as list any future maintenance work.
Once activated, the system will automatically store all successive maintenance information after each workshop visit, giving the driver a complete overview of the status of their vehicle. Owners can also add DIY work they’ve done themselves to the service record.
Stellantis said the new system is part of its global digital plan for aftersales, and is designed to “create added value for customers and repairers”.
The group has major plans to enhance the digital experience for its customers, as its transitions to a new role as a “sustainable mobility tech company”
DS and Peugeot are also offering a free 15-point Essential Safety Check to owners, when visiting a local retailer. The visual check covers all vital components of a customer’s car, including the tyres, brakes and battery, with the option to upgrade to an Enhanced or Ultimate Safety Check for additional support such as vital fluid top-ups, Air Con Refresh and a £30 voucher towards a future service.
A recent study found that more than half of car owners without a service plan are considering delaying or missing their vehicle’s annual service this year, as living costs rise rapidly.
