Plug’n Drive Cross-Canada EV Tour Concludes Western Leg in Canmore With Free Test Drives and Chance to Win 250,000 RBC Avion Points! – Plug’n Drive Canada

From October 2 to 19, Experience New EVs Firsthand To Enter to Win Big, and Have Your Questions Answered by Local EV Experts

Canmore, AB, September 25, 2025 – Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour concludes its Western Canada tour in Canmore, Alberta in October, bringing a refreshed fleet of exciting new all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to the public for no-pressure test drives.

MEET Canmore, hosted by the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley, gives local drivers the chance to get behind the wheel of eight all-electric (BEV) pickups and sedans, as well as a mix of plug-in hybrid and BEV crossovers and SUVs. These will include the all-new Cadillac OPTIQ and three-row VISTIQ, the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the GMC Sierra EV, as well as the compact Hyundai KONA Electric crossover, all of which are recent additions to the Western tour fleet.

Visitors will be able to speak with local EV owners about what it’s like to drive an EV year-round – a super-helpful resource for EV-curious consumers.

When you visit MEET Canmore and test drive an electric vehicle, you can enter the EVs are for EVeryone Tour Contest, presented by RBC, our National Champion Sponsor. On November 24, 2025, two lucky winners — one from Eastern Canada and one from Western Canada — will each receive 250,000 Avion points, enough to redeem for an electric scooter and more.

Every Thursday to Sunday between October 2 and 19, MEET Canmore will be hosted at the Canmore Recreation Centre, 1900 8 Ave., Canmore, AB T1W 1Y2. Test drives will be available from 10 am to 5 pm during those days. Online reservations for MEET Canmore are recommended, though walk ups are welcome as well. Drivers must be at least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license.

The local Site Sponsor, the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley, is a non-profit charitable organization promoting sustainable communities, and is supported through voluntary contributions and sponsorships.

“We’re happy to be able to bring such a unique mix of new and exciting electric vehicles to Canmore, which range from a compact crossover to multiple full-size EV pickup trucks and three-row SUVs that highlight the expanded offerings in the EV market for Alberta drivers,” said Grace Gillman, Shift: Climate Transitions Coordinator with the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley.

“When powered by Alberta’s increasingly renewable grid, they can reduce driving-related emissions by more than half, all while helping communities move toward cleaner air and a lower-carbon future.”

A key benefit of these test drives is the helpful knowledge of Plug’n Drive’s EV Ambassadors, who will facilitate the test drives. Many of them are EV owners themselves and members of local EV groups and can talk to test drivers about their own experiences with EVs and local charging infrastructure.

“The EV Ambassadors at these events are a great resource for questions about what it’s like living with an EV in Alberta,” said Edmund Ong, Team Leader for MEET Canmore, who also helped organize the recent MEET event in Banff, and is an EV owner himself. “Whether it’s questions about charging, fuel cost savings or winter range, it’s always helpful to speak to actual local owners who can speak to their experience over an extended period.”
