Plug’n Drive Announces Board Leadership Transition – Plug’n Drive Canada


Celebrating Dedicated Leadership and Welcoming New Voices to Guide Plug’n Drive’s Next Chapter

Toronto, ON, November 25, 2025 – Plug’n Drive is pleased to announce the recent changes to its Board of Directors, welcoming three distinguished new leaders whose expertise will help guide the organization’s continued growth: Julia McNally (Toronto Hydro), Laurie Swami (Nuclear Waste Management Organization), and Joe Zenobio (Call2Recycle).

Welcoming New Board Members

Julia McNally, Director of Climate Action, Toronto Hydro

Julia McNally is leading efforts to help customers electrify buildings and vehicles. She previously held senior roles at the OPA and IESO, including leading Ontario’s Pathways to Decarbonization initiative. Julia serves on the Toronto District 2030 board, the Building Decarbonization Alliance Steering Committee, and co-directs the Energy and Infrastructure LLM program at Osgoode Hall. She holds degrees from SOAS University of London, the University of Toronto, and Cambridge University.

Laurie Swami, President and CEO, Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO)

Laurie Swami has been leading Canada’s long-term plan for managing used nuclear fuel since 2016. She previously spent 30 years at Ontario Power Generation, including serving as Senior Vice-President of Decommissioning and Nuclear Waste Management. She holds a B.Sc. in Engineering Chemistry from Queen’s University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. A strong advocate for women in leadership, she received the Women in Nuclear Canada Leadership Award in 2016.

Joe Zenobio, President & CEO, Call2Recycle Canada

Joe Zenobio leads strategy, stakeholder engagement, and organizational culture at the country’s largest non-profit battery collection and recycling organization. He brings extensive experience in multi-stakeholder collaboration, government and consumer relations, and executive leadership. Previously, he held senior roles at GS1 US and GS1 Canada, working across commerce, supply-chain standards, and value-chain innovation. Joe holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Plug’n Drive extends its sincere appreciation to Frank D’Andrea (Hydro One), Amanda Klein (Elexicon Energy), Jeff Parnell (Power Workers’ Union), and Mike Rencheck (Bruce Power) for their valuable contributions and leadership during their tenure on the Board.
